How I remove my makeup.

Hi beauties!

So the last two post that I have published here were about hair care so I thought it would be fair if I did a skin care post here! Well, removing your makeup is essential in any skin care routine to get perfect looking skin and I know a lot of teens (including myself) love using makeup wipes. Here I am going to tell you how I remove my makeup and give you a small review on the product as well! Keep reading &let's go ahead.

The two products that I have been using lately would be Simple Makeup Cleansing Wipes and my all time favorite Shu Uemura Balancing Oil. Both this product work together to get rid of the tiniest bit of makeup that is still left deep in my pores.

Product 1) Simple Balancing Cleansing Wipes.

Review; This product doesn't have a scent that lingers around your face, however this leaves a small film of residue on your face, so if you're not a person who likes that this might irritate you just a bit. Removes my makeup really well however this does not (DOES NOT) remove my waterproof mascara as it said it does, but of course I don't expect a small piece of cloth to remove my water proof mascara!
Overall: 8/10.

Product 2) Shu Uemura Balancing Cleansing Oil.

Review; I absolutely am in love with this product! This product removes every last bit of my makeup and just make my face feel clean and fresh. This also removes waterproof mascara really well, just like the MAC cleanse off oil, If you've never heard of that I recommend you to google or even YouTube it. This comes out as an oil based cleanser, then when it comes in contact with water it turns into a milky cleanser. I have super oily skin, this does not in any way add more oil to my face.

Overall:9.5/10.

How I remove my makeup?
- Take a small piece of the cleansing wipes (SIMPLE), I wipe this all over my face to get rid of my makeup. This however will not get rid of all the makeup off your face. Cleansing wipes only remove the top layer of makeup! There are a lot of makeup under your skin.
- I take a small pump of the balancing cleansing oil and rub my hands together to evenly distribute it and rub it around my face to get rid of makeup.
- Wash your face.
- Cleanse using the toothbrush method, tone &Moisturize. ( If you've not read the toothbrush method post, Click - Electric toothbrush cleansing routine)

; This is how I remove my makeup, I know this post is a bit shorter than my other post but i hope this helps you if you've just started to wear makeup and you're trying to find out how to get rid of your makeup! Be sure to always use a balancing cleansing oil to remove your makeup because cleansing wipes does not take off your makeup completely.

A lot of people are wanting to get healthier and thicker hair, But believe it or not to have healthier and thicker hair comes from better diets (eating healthy). I'm going to give you a few food that will help you have thicker hair! So keep reading on and you'll find out!

Protein
Eat more fish, lamb, chicken, turkey and beef! These will help you have thicker hair. Not only meat products have protein, if you like eggs or low fat dairy products, go ahead and have them too! Soya Bean product is a good choice of having healthier and thicker hair too! Eat eggs daily, you'll find that you'll start growing thicker hair quickly!

Minerals

If you want healthier hair, you need zinc. Try eating more whole grain cereales, eggs, milk, cheese and even oysters! Zinc is one of the minerals that will keep hair from falling out so if you want thicker hair, zinc is essential.

Vitamins!

Vitamin A and C are very important for having thicker hair. Vitamin A and C are important because it's for your scalp. If you suffer from dandruff or dry scalp then vitamin A and C will help with that.
Food that contains Vitamin A or C can be either milk, cheese, yoghurt or even orange juice!
Drink more orange juice and say hi to healthier thicker hair! Carrots are a good source of Vitamin A, so if you like munching on baby carrots, You're doing great!

DIY Hair Treatment Mask.

Hi Beauties!

This could be the continuation of "How to treat dry &Damaged hair" that I recently published a few days back! So today, I'll give you 3 different ways on how you can make your own hair mask to treat dry and damaged hair! The ingredients are very simple and you might just find them in your kitchen/refrigerator.

And this is what I personally call the hair mask name, They don't specifically have a name, I just made it up.

Let's get started!

Yummy Yummy; This is good for those who want silky hair.

Ingredients;
1) 1 tablespoon of Honey
2) 1 tablespoon of Olive Oil.

How to make;
- Take an empty boil where you can microwave in.
- Pour 1 table spoon of olive oil into the bowl, then microwave it for about 10sec.
- Pour 1 table spoon of honey into the same bowl.
- Mix well, unless it comes out to be a creamy paste.
- Apply it on your hair (I personally just do it on the ends, but depends on you)
- Leave for about 15 minutes, rinse, condition and style away!

Sweetie Pie;

Ingredients;
1) 3 tablespoon of olive oil
2) 2 tablespoon of honey.
3) Egg yolk (Separate the egg yolk and egg white, You'll only need egg yolk)

How to make;
- Mix the olive oil and honey together till creamy paste forms.
- Add egg yolk in and mix it all together
- Apply to your hair
-Leave it for about 15-20 minutes.
- Shampoo, condition and blow away.

Tamed

Ingredients;
1) Rip avocado.
2) 1 Tablespoon of honey
3) 2 table spoon of olive oil.

How to make;
- Mash your ripened avocado in a bowl
- Add your 1 tablespoon of honey in the same bowl
- Add your 2 tablespoon of olive oil.
- Mix it all together until it reaches a creamy consistency paste.
- Apply to your hair
- Leave it for about 20-30 minutes (for best results)
-Rinse, shampoo and condition as usual

Well, this are the 3 top tips I could give you if you have either dry hair or you want to have silky hair. The reason why olive oil is so popular when it comes to make hair silky because of oil properties in them. I recommend you to rinse it thoroughly until you feel there is nothing left on your hair.

I recommend doing this once/twice a week. Always condition your hair!

Disclaimer; As usual, Pictures are not mine unless stated! Also, you can double the quantity if you have longer or thicker hair than I do, I find that this quantity of product works well for me. So you can always double it if you feel like you want to apply the mask from roots to the ends!

Check back in later at 3pm for a brand new post!

&Good luck!

Say bye bye to frizzy &dry hair!

Sunscreen 101

Hi Beauties!

Sunscreen is very important once you're in your teen years, so here's all you need to know about sunscreen, Welcome to Sunscreen 101! Here I'll be discussing about the benefits of sunscreen, what damage it'll do to your skin and also I'll be giving you some brands of sunscreen for you to choose for your skin type!

This post might be a little bit longer than what I am used to blogging because there are so much to know about sunscreen so please keep reading on! It's for your own good.

Sunscreen is very important because it protects your skin as you grow older and results will definitely show if you don't use sunscreen. The reason why you have to use a sunscreen is because the exposure to the sun UV radiation causes around 90% of skin cancer, premature aging and hyper-pigmentation. (scary I know)

Hyper-pigmentation is when your skin is being exposed too much to the sun, your skin will start to develop Hyper-pigmentation, Normally you wouldn't get them in your teens, but once you hit your early 20's you'll start to see! Hyper-pigmentation causes your skin to become darker than your skin color which leaves small dots on your cheeks, forehead or anywhere around your face.

Why is it important to use sunscreen?

- Skin damage from sunlight builds up with continued exposure, even if you have sunburn or not.
- To avoid premature aging, wrinkling and leathery texture like on your skin.

Different ways to protect your skin without sunscreen;
- Use an umbrella when you're taking long strolls
- Use a hat
- Wear long pants, long sleeve shirts.
-Stay at a shaded area.

What to look for in a sunscreen
- Buy a sunscreen with at least SPF of 15 or more (the higher the better)
- Protects against UVA and UVB radiation. Find products which contain chemical like Zinc and avobenzone
- Oil free, water based
- Noncomedegenic-Which means it is unlikely it'll clog your pores.

Choosing sunscreen for your skin type;

Oily skin- Try to stay away from Mineral oil that are in your sunscreen ingredients list. Look for product which are not that greasy. I would avoid Titanium Oxide and Zinc Oxide (this will give your face a white cast if you're talking flash photography, they are light reflecting chemicals)

Dry skin- Find sunscreen which come in lotion or cream form with ingredients like glycerin or aloe vera, these are hydrating ingredients. Avoid sprays that have alcohol, this will dry your skin even more.

Acne prone-Your skin type will definitely be highly reactive to sunscreens because you have acne prone skin. Find sunscreen that are light, oil free and comes in lotion form which chemical ingredient like Avobenzo and Oxybenzone.

These are different type of brands of sunscreen that'll work for your skin type;

- Neutrogena
- Avene
-Skinfood
-Banana Boat
-Clarins
-Clinique  [ Picture from; Clinique.co.uk]

Hope this post was useful for all of you out there reading now! As said again, all pictures are not mine unless stated, I just googled them randomly and took the pictures. If any of the photos belongs to you and I didn't credit, do kindly let me know!

Why you should carry thermal water sprays.

Hi Beauties!

You might think why am I doing a post on thermal water sprays? Well a lot of people tend to ignore the benefits of using a thermal water spray. There's tons of brands on thermal water sprays &thermal water spray isn't just water in a bottle. It's more than that! Keep reading on and you'll find out what the benefits are.

So there are different type of thermal water, I personally use Avene before but I have now changed to Evian thermal spring water.

[Picture from; Nordstorm.com]

[picture from; Google, no specific website]

I discovered the benefits of using these thermal spring water sprays when my skin was having it's dry days and I decided to give Avene a go, I used to use their skincare line but I discontinued as I found out that it wasn't doing much to my skin as I grew older!

What is a thermal spring water?
-Thermal water are basically just water that come from thermal springs. The water contains anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties. Yes, it has been proven.

Benefits;
1) Soothe and rebalance moisture in your skin
2) Reduce redness
3) Set makeup
4) Freshen up skin.

I bring a bottle of thermal spring water spray with me quite often if the sun is making my skin dry out or if I am not using sunscreen that day (which is bad! Sunscreen 101 post next!) I can instantly just pick this up from my bag and spray is on to give me more moisture.

I bring it on the plane with me as well (Of course the smaller sized bottle) because air plane air can be really bad for your skin as it is recycled air, So I spray this on my skin and it's an instant pick me up!

I found out that the small redness under my skin has completely cleared up after using this!

How to use it?
- Just spray it on your face like you normally would spray your makeup setting spray.
This is how you should spray it on your face!

However said, Thermal spring water may/can cause rosacea or even irritate for sensitive skin, I have sensitive skin and this did not in any way irritate my skin. So please consult a dermatologist before using this thermal spring water or if you are 100% confident with yourself that it is not going to irritate your skin then you may do so. I'll say do a test patch around your jaw area and let it sit for 24 hours then see the results!

You may even try using normal water to spray it on your skin on daily basis but the results wouldn't be that effective as said this has been clinically tested. However, hot and cold changes to your skin may cause you to have broken capillaries (veins under the skin) so do watch out if you would just use normal water.

So these are the tips and benefits on using thermal spring water! Are you now willing to give it a try? Check back in every day at 3pm for a new post!
Follow me @nichollezoe

ps// I am not a dermatologist so I am not responsible if the thermal spring water irritates your skin, so please do this under your own risk/care. I personally did not have a problem with the spring water.

Stay healthy!

Eating your way to healthy &clear skin!

Hi Beauties!

Having and maintaining clear skin has probably got to be the most difficult thing to do. I personally suffer from acne since I was 14 and it has finally died down therefore I want to share the ways I did to help my skin stay under control.

Having clear skin always begins with what you put in your body. Like they say; You eat what you are!
No problem, here are some good ol' tips to help you have clear and healthy skin!

Fruits; Bluekberries and Grapes are full of antioxidants. Antioxidants are what protects your skin from sun damage, free radicals, polluted environment. Watermelon &Oranges are high in Vitamin C.

Vegetables; All different vegetables carry different purpose that we eat but if you want to have clear and beautiful skin, try eating carrots or even sweet potatoes because they are great source for your skin! They are jam packed with Vitamin A and carotenoids. Caretenoids, help retain skin moisture and wrinkles.

Chocolate; Surprise to see this on the list? Yes, even bad stuff can be healthy for you. Chocolate contain antioxidants and flavonoids because it improves circulation which repairs damaged skin cells! When I say eat chocolate I do mean eat chocolate with at least 75% cacao. Try eating chocolate which doesn't contain nuts!

Here's what you should avoid!
1) Sugar
2) Processed food (sausages, packed fried chicken)
3) Salt
4)Oil.
5)Soft Drinks (boohoo! I know, I used to love drinking soft drinks a lot! I feel your pain)

[ poor little burger :( I just want to eat it!!!)

When I mean avoid, I don't mean not eat it completely, I do mean reduce the intakes of your sugary, salty and oily intakes as this is what is making your skin break out! Processed food contains a heck load of additivies, flour, and sodium which will definitely not help your skin look the best!
Refined sugary breaks down your skin elasticity which makes you have more wrinkles quicker. (Eks)

Try limiting yourself on all the goodness!
Mon-Friday= Eat anything healthy, for example; Dark leafy greens, fruits, and organic food.
Sat-Sun= Limit yourself to only 1-2 unhealthy food/drink ( Fries, fried Chicken, soft drinks or even bubble tea= yum my fav)

I've been doing this routine for about a month and my skin has changed dramatically, of course with the help of cleansing my face as well!
Check back in tomorrow at 3pm for a brand new post!

ps// All pictures are not mine unless stated! I just googled them &got them off random sites!

Yay to healthy &Clear skin!

- Cut your bananas into small pieces

Step 2)
- Put all your fruits (bananas &strawberries) into the blender and blend till it's all mixed well.

Step 3) Add 1 tablespoon of plain yoghurt or if you don't like yoghurt, you can add 1-2 table spoon of milk. (But be careful, milk can cause pimples if you have it daily) then blend it all again till mixed well.

Step 4) If the consistency is still thick, add some water. Sometimes you may need water, sometimes you don't. Depending on how you like your smoothie to be!

Step 5) Pour into a cup and drink up! It is super filling and super refreshing. You can add some ice cubes in it if you wish.

Why is this power smoothie good for your health and skin?

Bananas-They are filled with potassium which is good for decreasing risk of high blood pressure &it reduces stress. They contain Vitamin B6, Vitamin C and Potassium &It is high in starch. Not only that but bananas nourish your face and avoid early aging and wrinkles.
